The dataset contains anonymised transcripts from 12 semi-structured expert interview sessions involving 13 expert participants. One session was conducted jointly with two participants (R07 and R08). The interviews were conducted in November and December 2024 in French as part of the NCN MINIATURA 8 project no. 2024/08/X/HS5/00043, ‘The Redefinition of France's Strategic Culture after 1989: Sources and Evolution’. The interviews address the evolution of French strategic culture after the end of the Cold War, including strategic autonomy, nuclear deterrence, relations with NATO and the European Union, relations with the United States and Russia, the war in Ukraine, military transformation, defence policy, expeditionary operations, strategic thought, and the role of research institutions in the French strategic debate. The deposited files comprise a consolidated PDF containing all anonymised interview transcripts, a public participant-code table in CSV format, and a README file describing the structure of the dataset and the anonymisation procedure. Participants are identified only by neutral codes R01-R13. Direct identifiers and selected indirect identifiers that could facilitate re-identification were removed or generalised. Exact interview dates, affiliations and locations are not included in the public dataset. For detailed information, please consult the README file.
